WELCOME TO THE DEPOT CHESS CLUB

The Depot Chess Club is a place to learn and play chess in a fun and social environment. And if you are interested in competing at tournaments, we can get you ready for those, too! In addition to learning chess strategies and techniques, you can also learn how to notate your moves and use timers just like a regulation tournament game.

The Depot Chess Club is a scholastic club open to all teens in 6th-12th grades from any school – public, private, and home!! We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 3:00p to 4:30p, and just like other Depot programs, if East Jordan Schools is closed, so are we.

UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS

The Depot Chess Club is planning a field trip on Monday, May 11th, right after school, to visit and play with the Petoskey Chess Club. Transportation will be provided. Their club runs until 5:30, so we should return to The Depot by 6:30 at the latest.

UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS

Throughout the year, there are several open chess tournaments throughout the state. Almost all of them require participants to be registered through the United States Chess Federation and the Michigan Chess Association.
